Chamber Member Spotlight

Updated: 1 day ago

Nimbin Craft Gallery has been a much-loved part of the village for over 35 years, showcasing an inspiring range of locally made art and craft. From pottery, woodwork and jewellery to clothing, toys and unique gifts, there’s something special for every age and style.

The gallery proudly features works by local Indigenous artists, as well as local makers and creators, showcasing both traditional and contemporary pieces.

Colourful, creative and distinctly Nimbin, a visit isn’t complete without a wander through Nimbin Craft Gallery.

A friendly Q&A

What’s exciting for you as you start the new year?

Starting out the new year, we're really excited about the continual flow of new work coming in from local artists and makers. Seeing fresh, one-of-a-kind pieces arrive and watching customers connect with the stories behind them is incredibly rewarding. We also have a new-ish team member here, Narelle, who has brought her own spark and flavour into the shop, and even makes her own art including the cutest pinch pots and guardian statues.

What do you wish more people understood about your business?

We wish more people understood that when they shop here, they’re directly supporting local artists and makers. Most of what we sell is on consignment, so every purchase helps someone in our community continue creating, whilst supporting themselves and their families. Many of our artists don't have their craft in any other outlets. A fun fact is that we've been selling local art and craft on consignment in our shop for over 35 years, perhaps even the first business in Nimbin to do so!

What do you love most about being a business in Nimbin?

What we love most about being a business in Nimbin is the sense of connection and community between shop owners. Shops in Nimbin will regularly refer and recommend fellow businesses because we all genuinely want to see each other succeed and thrive. That makes being part of this community feel special and inspiring.
