Chamber's Support and Distribution Efforts

To support this valuable cultural offering in its formative stage the chamber committed to purchasing 20 copies of the photobook to assist in the fundraising necessary to get the project moving.

Chamber committee member Chris Ardill-Guiness played an integral part in seeking distribution opportunities and assisting with setting up the launch at the Church of Aquarius. The book is currently available for purchase on the Chamber's website, broadening its reach to a wider audience.

The Essence of "Out There"

"Out There" chronicles 50 years of alternative revolution in Nimbin. It includes interviews, photography, and art, providing a multi-sensorial journey through the eyes of 39 locals.

The book captures the essence of Nimbin’s unique culture and counterculture movement, offering readers a deep and immersive experience.

The authors describe the book as "the real Nimbin – naked, deconstructed and spontaneous – revisited through a unique concept that combines powerful photographs with poignant audio recordings and gripping soundtracks all individually crafted to each tale." They emphasize the richness of engaging with rule-breaking visionaries, activists, dreamers, artists, and self-thinkers who have made Nimbin a hub of creativity and revolutionary ideas.

Testimonials and Praise

Never before has this 'alternative' community of Australians been so thoroughly documented with such style. It is not only authentic but also a book full of love for its subjects, their philosophies, their sometimes seemingly wild and wacky ways, and their deep love of the land they and us depend on.

Craig Potton

This book documents a never-to-be-repeated time that would otherwise quite likely be lost. A unique and vibrant look on a counterculture emblem!

Gerard Hindmarsh

This is an exceptional effort by a very talented creative French couple who fell in love with Nimbin as I see it. They have spent years perfecting this book in an effort to capture Nimbin’s unique culture, photographing and interviewing 39 locals so you can immerse yourself and experience a multi-sensorial journey through their eyes.
