MardiGrass 2026

Updated: 1 day ago

This year felt good. In fact, it felt great.

Kombi Konvoy 2026

MardiGrass 2026 was one for the history books. Yes, the rain came down and yes, it was affectionately renamed 'MuddyGrass' by more than a few muddy-footed festivalgoers, but somehow that only added to the magic.

The atmosphere was beautiful. The energy was generous and alive. Everywhere you looked there were people sharing, chatting, dancing, laughing, learning. From the talks and Hemp Olympix to the market stalls, stages, performers, musicians, organisers and visitors, the whole village had that unmistakable MardiGrass feeling.

As the protestival came to an end, we started chatting with local business owners and the feedback has been amazing.

Time and time again we heard from business owners across the village who shared just how positive the weekend had been. Many spoke about strong trade, happy visitors and a sense of appreciation for what this protestival brings to Nimbin each year.

For Nimbin, MardiGrass is more than an event. It is culture, colour, community, activism, tourism, business, music, mud, laughter and heart.

It brings people into our village, supports local trade, showcases our creative spirit and reminds us just how special this little place really is.

Thank you to the locals who came out and celebrated with the village. Thank you to the organisers, volunteers, performers, stallholders, businesses and community members who make MardiGrass what it is. And thank you to everyone who made the trip to paradise — well, that is what we think anyway.

Until next year: same grass time, same grass channel.
